Head and Neck pathology is the subspecialty of surgical pathology and dentistry which deals with the diagnosis and characterization of neoplastic and non-neoplastic diseases of the neck, scalp, face, ears, para nasal sinuses, nasal cavity, oral cavity, salivary glands, pharynx, and larynx. In the academic setting, head and neck or maxillofacial pathologists work closely with head and neck surgeons, maxillofacial surgeons, and otolaryngologists. There is some overlap between the expertise of head and neck pathologists and that of endocrine pathologists.
